Last minute Gift Ideas- All Australian Made
•Posted on December 08 2022
It's that season again, the busy time of the year when everyone is running around getting gifts, planning Xmas day outfits and menus.
At Sustainable fashion online we have a selection of Australian made gifts that take the hassle out of shopping. Our offerings are not sized so there is no guessing there and these gifts will suit people of many ages as they're timeless.
Here are my 2022 GIFT suggestions...
1- Scarves
This year we have a couple of really special scarves on offer. The Paperwings Scarf features the artwork by local artist Lesley Kendall and you can read about the print and how it was created here
The Paperwing scarf ( pic above and below) is limited edition, we only printed and made 27 scarves, so it makes a beautiful gift, stunning art that can be worn.
The second scarf we have from the latest RANT collection 'paperwings' is the Orb Scarf. This is a lightweight cotton seersucker scarf which I have made by french seaming panels of the silver and green seersucker fabric together. It's got a beautiful texture and I love that it's textured and printed, such a great accessory to add to any outfit.
Our 2022 Table linen selection. We have two different artworks from Studio Nikulinsky which features watercolour paintings by Philippa Nikulinsky. The Sweedmans Mallee and the Eucalyptus with Spinebill are shown below, both have matching gift cards and one also has a matching notebook.
The Ink and Spindle table linen we had custom made for us this year is a very different look as it's hand screen printed. We chose the Sawtooth Banksia pattern printed in opaque white ink on a washed charcoal linen base and a Silky Oak pattern printed onto a natural linen base in two colours forest green and taupe.
These patterns are available in tea towels, napkins and table runners. I personally have the Sawtooth Banksia set to match my handmade ceramics that are shown in the pictures.

3- Notebooks
Our Australian made stationery is always expanding and we have added a couple of notebooks from local Brisbane artist Ingrid Bartkowiak (shown below). The Spotted Pardalote and the always popular Stone Curlew which we have restocked in the greeting cards too. We have a great selection of Journals, notebooks, cards & bookmarks, so check them out here
4- Belts
I have just made a new batch of our Circle belts. This belt is made from an gutsy Australian made cotton belting and I make them in house using some O rings. I designed this belt to add detail to any outfit while being super comfy. The extra O ring means you can shape the belt to your body which is handy when wearing it lower on the hips. Also being made from cotton keeps it cool to wear. It comes in one size.
I made a new belt this year called the Sass belt (pic below). It has a cute pocket attached, made from a heavyweight Italian cotton, an O ring to offer the same shaping option and the closure is a slider. The Sass belt is one size and matches lots of outfits while adding the functionality of the pocket.
5- Aromatics
The scented drawer sachets are a great gift as they add a nice smell to your drawers each time you open them. They are all made of natural ingredients and we choose fresh scents like Lemon Myrtle, Sandalwood and forest blossom.

Thanks for taking the time to see what we have to offer and remember we only stock items that are made in Australia, made from sustainable and natural sources and are from small local businesses. It's so important to support our local artists and makers as we want to ensure they survive these tough times. We are super appreciative of each and every order we receive and know that means you have made a conscious choice to shop with us, thanks so much,
Cheers
Sarah
