When we started our online store in 2012 it was all new and exciting. Being able to show the full selection of what we make for both of our labels (RANT & Bestowed) was so satisfying. From the beginning we decided that our online store would be the only one to sell our products online, so we would be able to control things and ensure that others didn't put our garments 'on sale' and underprice us or our selected independent retailers. Unfortunately times have changed and we need to discuss what has happened in the online space.
So it is 2024 with the rise of AI which means that all websites can be quickly scanned and it take whatever images or information it wants, nothing can stop it. So all our images that we pay the models, photographer, hair and makeup, along with all my hours writing product descriptions etc, can be stolen!
It has come to our attention that there are now scam websites of our products being used to try and phish (steal) the details, credit cards, passwords or Paypal accounts from those thinking they are purchasing from us. In the last 2 weeks, we have seen two of these fake websites pop up, using names such as sustainable fashion outlet, or using other online stores names but with all our products, images and descriptions.
Sustainablefashion.com.au is the ONLY place where you can actually buy our garments online. We do not have a Facebook account, and the only real Instagram account is @sustainable_fashion. We have 2 other websites, purely to show complete collections of our labels, as more of an artistic thing and to show off the editorial images. These websites are rantclothing.com.au, and bestowedclothing.com.
Any other website, Facebook or Instagram is 100% fake and will be aiming to steal or compromise your details. We have tried all of the ways to get these fake websites removed, but it is the internet, and in the end there isn't much anyone can do to prevent this.
Going forward, if you happen to see any of these websites please let us know with any details. We will then report them and try to get them taken down.
If you have tried to purchase from these fraudulent websites we recommend contacting your bank if you used a credit card. You will not be getting any order delivered as they do not have any of the products.
As a small family business, it's sad to see your hard work be used to try and steal from innocent people.
